Team Giddy Multisports at ITU San Diego

Over the weekend while the Professionals finalized Olympic selection the Age grouper also got the chance to be in the limelight for the ITU San Diego Triathlon.

The Age Groupers had the chance to race over the shorter Sprint Distance Triathlon or the Olympic Distance. The organizers organized a very challenging bike course over the notoriously steep Mt Soledad.

Several teams members decided to take on the 2 looped Olympic distance. Marisa Rastetter took top team honors taking out 4th place in the 35-39 division. Eric Smith along with Lauren Hinton also competed over the Olympic Distance with solid performances.

Top honors in the ITU Sprint distance went to Giddy Up team member Laura Rausa taking second place and a top 10 finish overall in the 30-34 division.

Robin Barsantee flew the teams colors at the Bonelli Park Triathlon finishing in the top 20 in the 45-49 division.

A huge Thank You to Champion System for our newly designed team uniforms. Although I am still partial to pink I must admit if my Felt Da was blue I would be a little jealous of the new colors.

The Giddy Up Multisports team’s next race is the Encinitas Sprint Triathlon and the OC Triathlon on the 20th of May.

Speed Tunnel

I was one of the lucky ones to get the opportunity to get a test ride in the Speed Tunnel a mobile Wind Tunnel. I just happen to be at the right place at the right time. The timing could not have been better as I had my new Felt Da and I was currently experimenting with my aero bars.

With my new found data on aerodynamics look out here I come.

Giddy Up Racing Team Dominates Fearless Tri

Over the weekend the Giddy Up Multisport Racing Team walked away with 7 Division victories.

Giddy Up Multisport Racing Team tackles the Fearless Triathlon. The Fearless tri is not your normal Triathlon it’s two tri’s wrapped up in one event.
Originally the format of this race was suppose to be a swim-bike-run-swim-bike-run but unfortunately due to the previous few days weather conditions the swim portion had to be cancelled. So now the race became the following duathlon format run-bike-run-bike run. The entire Giddy Up Team was still pumped despite the format being modified.

The Giddy Up Team’s victories ranged from taking the Overall and Amateur Division titles along with many of the age division awards as well.

Having just arrived back from Australia and experiencing a nasty dose of jet lag I thought I should at least update my Blog. It has been a while and have been slightly busy to say the least.

Four weeks ago I started my journey beginning in Melbourne, Australia for the Ironman Asia Pacific Championships. What a race it turned out to be. In the men’s race it was a battle royal between the old bloke’s Alexander and Brown but in the end Alexander got the better of Brown but not until 3/4’s of the Marathon had been run. In the women’s race Steffen just missed out on the outstanding World record currently held by Wellington. The locals will tell you that Melbourne is the greatest Sporting Nation in the world so it was very appropriate that Ironman Melbourne provided a race that will go surely go down in history.

I also spent a great deal of time at the ISM saddles booth at the Melbourne Ironman Expo. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to check out ISM’s great range of saddles. www.ismseatsAustralia.com

The next stop on my Oz trip was to sunny Queensland to visit numerous bike shops and to catch up with my family. Thanks to my twin sister Gabby for putting me to work, actually hard labor but at least I was looking a little fancy in my Running Skirts attire.

I spent the last few days in Sydney catching up with friends and the highlight of my trip. At 5.30 am Easter Morning I was awoken by a very excited four year named Olivia telling me...”MJ, MJ, the Easter Bunny came.

Yummy bring on the Cadbury chocolate...white please.
